Nothing much apart from tutus..

Not much has been happening. I'm over the worst of the flu now though so at least I'm up and about as usual. Good timing as my latest tutu order came in on Wednesday.

A pretty little fushia tutu for a 3-5 year old princess.

Old Dressing Tables and Little Princesses...

I'm sure most people enjoy having a project on the go at all times.
Or two projects.. Or three. Four? More?

Currently I'm working on this dressing table:


Now I absolutely love the art deco look of this furniture. Personally I would love to see it painted black with red drawer faces. However...

This belongs to a friend of mine. And the dresser is going into his daughter's new bedroom. And she's very much into her princess pinks. So the black and red is clearly out the window.

The walls in the princess bedroom are a deep pink (well, they will be), so my initial thoughts of sanding and painting this dresser pink were dashed by the thought of clashing pinks and too much pinkness in general. I've decided to go for a pure white, perhaps with baby pink drawer faces and a netting or gingham fabric lining the bottom to hide the black legs and also to create some hidden storage space.

So far I've sanded the dresser and put on an undercoat to seal the wood:



Once I get over this flu its time to start with the paint!

Ok well how about I introduce myself? Yes.
Well... I'm from the North of Ireland. A half British-half Japanese female who loves art, craftiness, down right randomness, reading, writing, creativity, simplicity, fashion, music, kittens, all things cute - and plenty of other rarities.

I've always enjoyed reading and exploring blogs. For ages now I have been meaning to start blogging myself but I always manage to put it off for a rainy day.

Today would be that day.

Not because it happens to be a rainy day, but because I happen to be couped up in bed with the flu and without much else to do. It dawned on me that now is as good a time as any to get stuck into this new adventure.

So here I am. Let me hang up my coat and take off my hat and I'll be with you in a jiffy over a nice cup of tea.
